The Institute of Organic Chemistry in the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy at the University of Münster, Germany, is seeking to fill the position of a


Doctoral Research Associate (Wissenschaftliche*r Mitarbeiter*in, salary level E 13 TV-L, 65%)

for the externally funded project commencing on 1 October 2025. We are offering a fixed-term part-time position (65% FTE) for 3 years.

Your tasks:

  • Investigating and developing photochemical reactions in micelles.
  • Collaboration in research.
  • Undertaking independent research
  • Active engagement in and support of the infrastructure of the research group.

This position is tied to working towards a doctorate.

Our expectations:

  • A master´s degree in chemistry, with a focus on organic chemistry is required.
  • Experience in using general laboratory techniques (working under argon atmosphere, conducting lowtemperature experiments) is required.
  • Experience applying standard analytical methods (LC, GC, GC-MS, HPLC, NMR-spectroscopy and mass spectrometry) is advantageous.
  • Experience in and knowledge of organic chemistry is required.
  • Experience with micelles or other types of membranes is advantageous.
  • Experience with photochemistry is advantageous.
  • Experience with photophysical characterization is advantageous
  • Experience with photodynamic therapy is advantageous
  • A good command of written and spoken English is required.
  • A good command of written and spoken German is advantageous
