The Accounting Center Münster (ACM) of the School of Business and Economics at the University of Münster invites applications for the following position, to be filled by 1 March 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter:

Position overview and affiliation: The professorship is affiliated with the Accounting Center of the School of Business and Economics and represents the field of financial accounting in research and teaching. The prospective appointee will be expected to integrate themselves into the Accounting Center and the School of Business and Economics. We are seeking a candidate whose research focuses on current and future key topics of financial accounting, e. g. digitalisation, innovation, capital market orientation and auditing.
Research: The prospective appointee must possess an outstanding research profile, substantiated by relevant publications or promising articles under peer review in leading international accounting journals. Proven experience in securing third-party funding should be present. Involvement in an international research network is highly desirable. The candidate is expected to pursue quantitative-empirical research.
Teaching: The prospective appointee should be committed to high-quality teaching and demonstrate didactic competence. The ability or demonstrated willingness to teach courses in both German and English on national and international accounting standards at the bachelor, master, and doctoral levels is expected.
Knowledge transfer: The prospective appointee should be open to making their research findings accessible to the broader public, thus contributing to societal discourse.
Service Engagement: The candidate should also demonstrate commitment to carrying out self-administrative duties within the School of Business and Economics.
Appointment requirements: In accordance with § 36 of the NRW Higher Education Act, to be eligible for this position, candidates are required to hold a university degree and proven academic qualifications, typically substantiated by a doctoral degree. In addition, the candidate must have acquired further academic achievements, obtained through an assistant professorship, habilitation (postdoctoral qualification), as a member of the academic staff of a university or non-university research institute, or in a research position in business, industry, administration or other relevant field in Germany or abroad.
