The research group led by Prof Björn Braunschweig within the Institute of Physical Chemistry in the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy at the University of Münster is seeking to fill the position in of a
Doctoral Research Associate (Wissenschaftliche*r Mitarbeiter*in, salary level E 13 TV-L, 67%)
at the earliest possible date. We are offering a fixed-term part-time position (67% FTE) for 3 years.
Your tasks:
- Research on self-regulating and responsive soft materials that autonomously adapt their properties through coupling of photochemical and thermoresponsive systems
- Development of a temperature-controlled feedback mechanism in which light-induced exothermic reactions specifically control thermoresponsive polymers
- Application of laser spectroscopy to analyse molecular structures and reaction mechanisms at interfaces
- Documentation, presentation, and publication of research results at international conferences and in renowned scientific journals
- Working in the highly vibrant environment of the Collaborate Research Centre CRC 1459 ‘Intelligent Matter
This position is tied to working on a doctoral research project
Our expectations:
- A university degree (master’s or German Diplom) in chemistry or physics isrequired.
- High motivation, scientific curiosity, and the ability to work independently as well asin a team is expected.
- Strong proficiency in English, both written and spoken is essential.
- Experience in opticalspectroscopy is desirable.
- Knowledge of physical chemistry, soft matter, or photochemical and thermoresponsive systems is an advantage
