The Institute of Applied Physics at the University of Münster is seeking to fill the position of a
Doctoral Research Associate (Wissenschaftliche*r Mitarbeiter*in , salary level E 13 TV-L, 65%)
at the earliest possible date. We are offering a fixed-term part-time position (65% FTE) for 3 years. Full-time employees are required to teach 4 hours per week during the semester.
Your tasks:
Experimental and accompanying theoretical/numerical research on coherent Raman spectroscopy and imaging with improved spatial, spectral and/or temporal resolution related to, for example, medicalbiological questions in dermatology. The planned research work will, among other things, improve measurements in the epi-direction in terms of light yield and quantitative significance. The position is tied to working towards a doctorate.
Our expectations:
- A master's degree from a university or applied university in physics, photonic engineering, electrical engineering or a comparable degree program is required.
- The ability to independently carry out scientific work, solve problems and present results is required.
- A demonstrated understanding of at least one of the following topics is required: design and characterization of diode-pumped solid-state lasers, design and characterization of a nonlinear microscope or numerical modelling of the propagation of ultrashort light pulses in scattering and absorbing (nonlinear) media.
- Furthermore, a good knowledge of written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of the German language would be an advantage.
