The Schönhoff Research Group in the Institute of Physical Chemistry at the University of Münster, Germany, is seeking to fill the position of a
Doctoral Research Associate (Wissenschaftliche*r Mitarbeiter*in, salary level E 13 TV-L)
We are offering a part-time position (67% FTE) limited for 3 years.
The Schönhoff Working Group studies battery electrolytes and self-assembled functional (polymer) materials, particularly with regard to dynamics and transport processes, in order to optimise their function.
Your tasks:
- Collaboration in a third-party funded project, funded by the DFG
- Carrying out experiments on ion transport with the aid of NMR methods
- Quantitative analysis for the calculation of ion correlation coefficients
- Collaboration in an international team
This position is tied to working towards a doctorate (67%).
Our expectations:
- A master’s degree (or equivalent) in chemistry or physics is required.
- A very good master’s thesis in the field of physical chemistry or soft matter physics is required.
- A strong quantitative physico-chemical mindset is expected.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is required. German language skills would be an advantage but are not a requirement.
- Experience with NMR methods and evaluation procedures is an advantage.
- Experience in the development of experimental setups as well as basic programming experience is desirable.
- The ability to work in a team, communication skills, organisational skills and an independent working style are a must
