The Institute of Organic Chemistry in the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy at the University of Münster is seeking to fill the position of a


Doctoral Research Associate (Wissenschaftliche*r Mitarbeiter*in, salary level E 13 TV-L, 67%)

commencing on 1 July 2025. We are offering a fixed-term part-time position (67% FTE) for 3 years. Full-time employees are required to teach 4 hours per week during the semester.

Your tasks:

  • The position is tied to working towards a doctorate. This includes participation in the Research Training Group of the Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) 1459 Intelligent Matter.
  • Collaboration in the research project on the development of intelligent soft actuators based on hybrid materials as part of subproject B06 of the CRC 1459 Intelligent Matter.

Our expectations:

  • A very good university degree in chemistry with a specialization in organic chemistry and a very good Master's thesis in the field of supramolecular chemistry or polymer chemistry are essential.
  • Very good theoretical knowledge in the field of supramolecular chemistry as well as practical experience in the necessary laboratory techniques (e.g. synthesis of dyes and polymers) and analytical methods (e.g. NMR spectroscopy, UV-vis spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, size exclusion chromatography) are required.
  • Good theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the field of responsive organic or hybrid materials (e.g. hydrogels, polymers, colloids) and the required analytical methods (e.g. rheology, DLS, TEM) are required.
  • Good English and German language skills are required.
  • A willingness to engage in interdisciplinary and international cooperation in the context of the research project is expected
