The Institute of Biochemistry in the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy at the University of Münster, Germany, is seeking to fill the position of a
Doctoral Research Associate (Wissenschaftliche*r Mitarbeiter*in,salary level E 13 TV-L)
at the earliest possible date. We are offering a fixed-term part-time position (65%) for 3 years.
Your tasks:
- This position is tied to working towards a doctorate
- collaboration in research and teaching
- participation in maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Chemical Biology and biochemical research focusing on the interaction between proteins and RNA in the context of mRNA degradation
Our expectations:
- A graduate degree in chemical biology, biochemistry, chemistry or closely related disciplines with a molecular focus is required (i.e. German Diplom and / or master’s degree) is required.
- A good understanding of molecular biology and biophysics (especially molecular cloning, protein expression and purification) is required.
- A good understanding of peptide synthesis is required.
- Basic knowledge of RNA-binding proteins is desirable
- Basic knowledge of Linux is desirable.
- Good command of written and spoken English is required.
- German language skills would be advantageous but are not a requirement.
- Teamwork, communication skills, organisational skills and the ability to work independently are
