In addition, the successful candidate will provide students with subject-related expertise and instruction applying scientific methods.
Applicants must have a doctoral degree in the biological sciences (such as biology, molecular biology, biomedicine, biochemistry or life sciences). Substantial expertise with genetics and cell biology in yeast (S. cerevisiae) as well as with lipid droplet biology is required (documented by respective publications). In addition, experience with high resolution live cell imaging is essential. A good command of written and spoken English is necessary.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in molecular and cell biology. Solid knowledge of organelle biology is highly desirable. Additional relevant expertise may include protein biochemistry, flow cytometry and experience in analysing cellular fitness, stress tolerance and lifespan. The applicant should have demonstrated productivity in pursuing research in relevant disciplines. Good team work and communication skills are important.
