The Institute of Organic Chemistry in the Faculty 12 Chemistry and Pharmacy at the University of Münster, Germany, is seeking to fill the position of a


Doctoral Research Associate (Wissenschaftliche*r Mitarbeiter*in, salary level E 13 TV-L)

commencing on 1 August 2026. We are offering a fixed-term part-time position (67 %) for 3 years in the working group of Prof. Studer within the third part funding project ERC Advanced Grant with the title „Radical Chemistry with the Hydrogen Atom Through Water Activation”. Full-time employees are required to teach 4 hours per week during the semester.

Your tasks:

  • This position is tied to working towards a doctorate
  • Collaboration in third-party funded project ERC – H-dot
  • Collaboration in research and teaching
  • Imparting specialist knowledge to students and instruction in the application of scientific methods
  • Carrying out independent research
  • Collaboration in the infrastructure of the Studer working group

Our expectations:

  • An above-average university degree (master's/diploma/state examination) in chemistry.
  • Good command of written and spoken English is required.
  • Experience and knowledge
    • in research in the field of organic chemistry
    • in standard analytical methods (e.g., NMR, GC, UV-vis, fluorescence, HPLC)
    • in the analysis of chiral compounds (e.g. chiral HPLC)
    • in standard laboratory techniques (e.g., working under protective gas)

is required.

  • Theoretical and practical experience
    • in the field of lewis acid catalysis
    • in the synthesis of chiral compounds
    • in the dearomatization of heteroarenes

is required.
