The Careers Service is the University’s central point of contact for careers advice. With a comprehensive range of seminars, information and advice, the Careers Service helps students, doctoral students and graduates to develop a strong professional profile, gain and reflect on practical experience, and make contacts with employers. University instructors are advised by the Careers Service on how to successfully transfer study skills to the workplace and how to communicate this process to students.

The Careers Service at University of Münster is seeking to fill the position of an

IT Generalist

commencing on 1 October 2024. We are offering a part-time position (50 %). The salary level is up to 9a TV-L.

Your tasks:

  • Oversight of the customer relationship management (CRM) system “combit”, which is used for registration, de-registration and management of all courses offered by the Careers Service
  • Programming and customisation of scripts in HTML, PHP, MySQL, PostgreSQL and VBScript
  • Maintenance of Careers Service courses in HIS LSF, the University of Münster’s electronic course catalogue
  • Creation of course evaluations using evasys software
  • Regular maintenance of the Careers Service website using the Imperia content management system

Our expectations:

  • Training and/or study in an IT profession or comparable qualification – career starters or students, e.g. in computer science, are also welcome
  • (Programming) experience with PHP, HTML, MySQL, PostgreSQL and ideally VBScript is an advantage – otherwise we will be happy to support you with appropriate advanced training opportunities
  • Excellent MS Office skills (especially Excel)
  • Excellent German or alternatively English language skills required
  • Independent and autonomous working style
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Communication skills
