The Department for Quantum Technology in the Faculty of Physics (FB 11) at the University of Münster, Germany, is seeking to fill the position of a
Doctoral Research Associate (Wissenschaftliche*r Mitarbeiter*in, salary level E 13 TV-L, 65%)
at the earliest possible date. We are offering a fixed-term part-time position (65%) for 3 years. Full-time employees are required to teach 4 hours per week during the semester.
Your tasks:
- Participate in the research activities of the Department of Quantum Technology, including the planning and execution of scientific projects in the fields of theoretical quantum technologies and foundations of quantum theory.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of collaborative research efforts with group members, students, and national and international research partners.
- Publication of original research results in leading scientific journals and presentation of these results at international conferences.
- Participation in the teaching activities of the Department of Quantum Technology.
- This position is tied to working towards a doctorate.
Our expectations:
- A graduate degree (German Diplom or master's degree) in physics is required.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English is strongly desired.
- Knowledge in the theoretical foundations of quantum physics and, quantum information theory, and generalized probabilistic theories.
- Research experience in the mathematical structure of quantum theory.
- You should be team-oriented, have strong communication and organisational skills, scientific writing and presentation skills, and the ability to work independently.
