This full-time position is available from the earliest possible date and for the duration of two years. Fulltime employees are required to teach 4 hours per week during the semester.
The position involves collaboration in research and teaching. In the course of the two-year project, genetic and imaging techniques for analyzing collective cell migration in Drosophila melanogaster are to be established. The techniques should be used to address mechanistic questions related to organ morphogenesis. The position offers the opportunity to develop independent research concepts and to obtain further academic qualifications in the field of cell and developmental biology.
The prerequisite for this appointment is a PhD in biology, biochemistry or another related discipline. Applicants should be independent, passionate and collegial, with a strong academic track record in cell, developmental or molecular biology and/or genetics. Expertise in quantitative imaging and Drosophila genetics is expected. German language skills would be advantageous, but are not a requirement.
The laboratory is based at the Multiscale Imaging Center (MIC), which provides an outstanding interdisciplinary research environment with state-of-the-art microscopy infrastructure. The Institute of Integrative Cell Biology and Physiology and MIC offer an international atmosphere and a diverse range of opportunities for dynamic scientific exchange.
The University of Münster strongly supports equal opportunity and diversity. We welcome all applicants regardless of sex, nationality, ethnic or social background, religion or worldview, disability, age, sexual orientation or gender identity. We are committed to creating family-friendly working conditions.
