The Institute of Geography Education in the Faculty of Geoscience at the University of Münster, Germany, is seeking to fill the position of a


Research Associate (Wissenschaftliche*r Mitarbeiter*in, salary level E 13 TV-L)

commencing on 1 November 2024. We are offering a fixed-term full-time position until 31 October 2025 (12 months). Full-time employees are required to teach 4 hours per week during the semester.

Your tasks:

  • Supporting the internationalisation process of the institute (e.g. contribute to the expansion of the international network)
  • Collaboration in current research projects of the Institute of Geography Education
  • Teaching into the master's programme in geography education (in English)
  • Conducting your own research projects

Our expectations:

  • A graduate degree in geography education (e.g. a master’s or German Diplom)
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Experience working in Geography education at a non-German university
  • New impulses for the future development of research and teaching at the institute

The following criteria would be welcomed:

  • Experience in empirical educational research is desirable.
  • Current integration in the international network of geography educators is not a requirement but a willingness to start one would be desirable
