The Institute of Organic Chemistry in the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy at the University of Münster is seeking to fill the position of a

Research Associate Wissenschaftliche*r Mitarbeiter*in (salary level E 13 TV-L, 67%)

for the externally funded project IRTG 2678 commencing on 1 October 2024. We are offering a fixed-term part-time position (67% FTE) for a limited period, until 31 March 2026 (corresponding to the project’s duration).

Your tasks:

  • Collaboration in the externally funded project of the IRTG 2678
  • Undertaking independent research
  • Part of the research work (6 months) must take place in one of the partner laboratories at Nagoya University
  • Active participation in the IRTG 2678 qualification programm

Our expectations:

  • An above-average university degree (master's or a German Diplom/state examination) in chemistry or a closely related subject is required.
  • Good command of written and spoken English is required, e.g. proven by a research stay or study in an English-speaking country.
  • German language skills would be advantageous but are not a requirement.
  • We also expect experience in and knowledge of
  • the field of organic chemistry,
  • standard analytical methods (e.g. NMR),
  • standard laboratory techniques (e.g. working under inert gas, glove box), and o the independent processing of a methodological research project
  • We are seeking someone with theoretical and practical experience in
  • the field of transition metal catalysis,
  • asymmetric synthesis, and
  • the transformation of or on π-systems
