The prospective appointee will be responsible for the full range of teaching and research activities in the subject of history of the 19th to the 21st century. The candidate is to be actively involved in all degree programmes in which the Department of History participates. German and European history of the 20th and 21st century should be the primary focus of research in this professorship. The candidate’s prior research should consist of monographs on at least two subjects from the area of the professorship. We expect the prospective appointee to participate in joint research projects. We also expect the appointee to collaborate on projects at our existing research centres.
